HELLO!
Welcome,

My name is Vicky Manning and I'm the founder of The Little Foragers Kitchen.

Foraging is my passion; it’s a real joy and privilege to share the knowledge I’ve gathered over many years with others. I started The Little Foragers Kitchen to do just that. I hope you’ll join me; be warned though, foraging is addictive! You might not be able to stop…

Our ancestors depended on Nature to supply them with food, medicine and shelter. Their supermarket, pharmacy and equivalent of B & Q was literally right outside their house.

Foraging for food used to be the primary way that our ancestors survived and there are some truly delicious wild foods out there at all times of the year, from fresh wild greens, aromatic herbs, fragrant blossoms, pungent saps, juicy berries, creamy nuts and of course a huge array of different mushrooms.

Wild foods are ancestral foods, regardless of whether they are native or introduced/invasive. At some point, they will have filled our ancestors cooking pots.

Far from a recent food trend, wild foods have been consumed and enjoyed by our ancestors around the world, since we first walked the Earth.

Nature’s larder is truly diverse and of course, it’s not just food she supplies us with, but medicines to heal, materials for shelter, the tools to build and detergents to clean both ourselves and our homes.

Here at The Little Foragers Kitchen, we are passionate about helping people of all ages to reconnect with this lost knowledge in an accessible, safe and fun way.

Ultimately, foraging is a journey that will last a lifetime, taking you through meadows and hedgerows, browsing dusty old books, back out into the woods or maybe the beach, back home into the kitchen and there may well be some fascinating folklore thrown in there along the way.

It is the ultimate way to reconnect with the Earth and our ancestors who walked this way, before us.
