Biography
Born and raised in Caithness, I have always loved exploring our local countryside. From bramble hunting as a child to making our own wine from local plants and fruit as a young adult and over the years exploring the many uses of flora, fauna and fungi surrounding us as foods, medicines and materials we can make use of.
Having studied diploma’s in Personal Nutrition and Cannabis & CBD oil, it sparked an interest in other natural remedies which lead me to study a Master Herbalist Diploma and exploring the world of locally found edible and medicinal plants and fungi.
In 2021, I was approached by a local Development Trust to lead some foraging walk as part of a festival of events. The following year we launched Natures Path Natural Ways and continue to offer our own foraging walks, talks and events throughout Caithness and Sutherland in the North of Scotland.
I also love to preserve the wonderful flavours and bounties that nature offers us, by making a range of small batch syrups, jams, chutneys and other preserves, that we offer for sale from our Honesty Box or at local markets and craft fayres.
